Baltic and Institute second lecture of this series

In London - Tony Foster, CIO of Marine Capital delivers a superb lecture on Shipping Finance.

On Wednesday 13th November we enjoyed a superb talk by Tony Foster, CIO of Marine Capital.

Tony discussed "Shipping Finance, how asset owners and others with exposure to freight rates raise capital today, how does it affect an owner's chartering decisions as well as related streams; why are we seeing an increasing number of charterer- owner JVs and what motivates these tie ups?"

All guests expressed glowing feedback.

The lecture held was a success. More than 35 shipping practitioners attended this event lecture in Shanghai.

The lecture was delivered by Mr Steven Jia, Executive Director - Augustus Maritime Co, he has 18 years of shipping experiences and 5 years of FFA/Fuel Futures Trading Experiences.

He talked about the cases of FFA, Fuel Oil Futures, and provided his expert insights on how to use the FFA and Fuel Oil Futures to manage market volatility and risk.

 

In Singapore - on 27th November the talk by Kenneth Ng, Director of Digital Services at the Singapore Exchange (SGX) was a very well attended session

Over 80 attendees came along including ICS members, Baltic members, ICS students and other invited guests.

The Piraeus event was well attended by members of the Baltic Exchange and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and Mr Catsampas discussed in detail new regulations and changes that will take place in the field and also the requirements that all shipping practitioners need to know.

Participants had the chance to network and exchange views and ideas on this crucial topic. The positive feedback received from the participants was extremely encouraging.

The Baltic and Institute lectures are free for Members and Company members and deliver great benefits by providing industry insight with world class speakers.

A very well attended interactive session. Our thanks to the Panellists Capt. Moderated by Jagmeet Makkar FICS who gave a brief introduction of Hedging & Derivatives basics before commencing the panel discussion.
