Svetlana Androsova (pictured), a commercial advisor with a large gas company in Brisbane and the Institute's Australia and New Zealand Branch representative in Queensland, organised a shipping gathering in Brisbane in August 2016.

Shipbrokers, charterers representatives and a maritime lawyer got together for a few beers at the famous "Pig & Whistle Riverside" pub located at the Eagle Street Pier on the Brisbane river. On a warm, end of Brisbane "winter" evening the current market situation of dry cargo and LNG shipping was discussed as well as how shipping cycles (hopefully) work.

The current low oil price environment and perspective of the oil markets was of interest to all attendees. After more beers (the Australian "Little Creatures" ale took the Gran Prix), accompanied by plates loaded with chips and chicken wings, ex LNG vessel Masters shared a few stories about incidents at sea.
