Pakistan World Maritime Day - 3rd October 2019

The Nautical Institute, Pakistan Branch has organized World Maritime Day 2019 under the auspices of Karachi Port Trust on Thursday 3rd Oct 2019 at Pear Continental Hotel, Karachi.

A full day seminar was arranged on theme of the World Maritime Day 2019

"EMPOWERING WOMEN IN THE MARITIME COMMUNITY"

The celebration was divided in three sessions;

1. Inaugural session which chaired by Capt. Anwar Shah, Ex- Director General and Additional Secretary  of  Ministry  of  Ports  &  Shipping.  Keynote   Address   was   delivered   by  Capt. S.M.A Mahmoodi Chairman, Nautical Institute and Vice Chairman of CILT-Pakistan and Honorary Secretary Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Pakistan.

2. Technical Session which was chaired by Capt. Khalid Humail, Chief Executive of Oceanic Group. There were Five papers all together which was introduced by two foreign delegates namely Ms. Zawiah Majid, Vice Chairperson WiLAT Global Southeast Asia and Chairperson, WiLAT, Malaysia Capt. Abdul Aziz, Secretary General,  IKMAL  -  Malaysia and three local speakers Madam Nasreen Haq, Chairperson WiLAT Pakistan, Ms. Ayesha Masood, Executive Director, SeaCare Pakistan and Muhammad Ali Khan, Team Leader of YP's CILT Pakistan.

 

All of the  papers were of the best quality and excellently introduced.  The sessions were summed up by the Session Chairman and recommendations were drawn.

3. Closing session which was chaired by Mr. Sardar Yasin Malik, Patron of CILT, Pakistan. RECOMMENDATIONS OF SEMINAR introduced by Capt. S.M.A Mahmoodi.

The celebration was largely attended by elite of maritime community which includes officials of Ports Customs and Ministry of Maritime Affairs.
