Liverpool Branch Annual Dinner, another great success

Posted on Thursday, April 27, 2017

A total of 275 members and guests attended the Dinner and many said how good it was to return to the Crowne Plaza for this event.

After an excellent meal we were all entertained by Barry Stokes who held his amusing game of Heads and Tails which raised the grand sum of £2600 to be shared between 2 local children's charities.

We then had speeches from Mrs Louise Ellman MP (Liverpool Riverside MP and Chair of the Commons Transport Select Committee) and our Branch Chair Mrs Alyson Loughlin FICS.

This year the Branch decided to try something new and introduced an award to the "Local Contributor to Education" and invited organisations in the area to put their names forward for consideration. The award was won by the Maritime Business and Logistics department of Liverpool John Moores University.

To complete the evening we kept laughing by the tales and jokes of the excellent Pete Emmett.

Overall it was felt that it was another excellent evening and enjoyed by all.
