UK Port Agent Apprenticeship EOI submitted

Posted on Monday, January 30, 2017

The Institute is facilitating an employer trailblazer group to develop a UK Port Agent Apprenticeship scheme.

Finding and keeping high quality staff within a tough business environment is a challenge faced by most, if not all, port agency companies regardless of company size or location.

The project will support employers through subsidised training and employment and also in the provision of defined training and skills to new employees (and may even apply to current employees who can be moved onto apprenticeships).

The Expression of Interest has now been lodged with the Department for Education.

As part of the assessment process all bids are placed online to give interested parties an opportunity to comment on the proposals. Those who participate in the survey are asked to feedback against a number of factors that will help assess the bid.

This survey is now live for a week and the link to it is available here.

The survey will close on 5th of February. It is a short deadline so please act promptly.

The survey is short and will not take more than ten minutes to complete.

We would ask that as many UK companies as possible complete the survey to support the Port Agent Apprenticeship proposal so please forward this to any relevant contacts for them to also complete.

There is still time for UK port agency companies to join the employer trailblazer group for the project so if you are willing to join our trailblazer group please email federation@ics.org.uk
