Hong Kong Branch Spring 2017 Lecture

The Hong Kong Branch Spring Lecture "Evolution of Third Party Ship Management" was held on 28th April 2017 at Indian Recreation Club. It was a great event, where members, administration and friends of the branch enjoyed the warm atmosphere in the cozy environment.

The evening was initially kicked off by the MC for evening Mr. Jagmeet Makkar, FICS and was followed by a presentation & speech by sponsor MTG Dolphin Shipyard's Production Director Mr. Ivan Botev.

The Guest of Honour for the evening was Mr. Peter Cremers, Executive Chairman, Anglo Eastern Univan Group, who during his lecture, highlighted the successful story of Anglo Eastern in Ship Management sector.

Mr. Cremers gave insight into third party ship management services. He shared his experiences in building a ship management company from 15 vessels to more than 600 in span of 30 years. Anglo Eastern Ship Management has long tradition of operating a global fleet of commercial vessels.

Mr. Cremers shared his thoughts on issues surrounding shipping in general and the strategies that a ship management firm should employ to survive & succeed.  He spoke about uncompromising standards, and the customer needs.

The event was well attended and participants had a good time thanks to the excellent food and the entertainment by Bhangra group "Funjabi". Networking proved to be a relaxed evening for everyone. Not only did the attendees grab the chance to meet and interact with Mr. Cremers, but also found the chance to meet industry colleagues very valuable and thus many stayed back till quite late in the evening.
