The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (Greek branch) participated at Posidonia 2014 from the 2nd to the 6th of June. Posidonia is the world's most prestigious shipping exhibition that takes place in Greece every two years.

Our stand received high visibility and attracted the interest of many visitors, both local and from abroad, who wished to be informed about the ICS Professional Qualification and Training programmes.

FICS Members of the Institute also visited our stand and expressed their positive comments about the ICS.

We were happy to welcome Mr.Bruce Ogilvy, the International Vice President of the ICS, at our stand, where members and students had the chance to discuss with him and express their interesta bout the ICS Membership Qualification.

This year, the Posidonia Exhibition broke all records in terms of number of visitors, who were estimated to be roughly 20,000, according to the organisers. More than 1,893 exhibitors, from 90 countries all over the world contributed to make the exhibition one of the largest shipping events that the worldwide shipping community anticipates to attend.

In one day alone, roughly 6,000 people visited the 60,000 square meters of the Metropolitan Expo centre in Spata, near Athens airport, where the exhibition was held.

The success and global appeal of Posidonia 2014 proved once again that Greece is the homeport of global shipping, which in turn provides the platform for the most important mode of transport for worldwide trade.

Posidonia 2014 ended on a high note last week, creating new event records and demonstrating the enduring appeal and growing popularity of the world's biggest, most diverse and prestigious shipping event.
