Sri Lanka Annual Customer Service Awards

ICS Sri Lanka branch held its annual customer service awards ceremony for the shipping lines and container depots on 8th December 2020 in Colombo at the auditorium of Sinhalese Sport Club (SSC). Ceremony was held while maintaining Health Ministry guidelines which included maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks. Although participation of shipping lines and container depots was limited to one member from each institution, the event was live streamed via all mainstream social media and webinar platforms from the venue. Chief Guest for the event was Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Gen (Rtd) Daya Rathnayake and Guest of Honour was Mr. Romesh David, Chief Executive Officer of South Asia Gateway Terminals Ltd. Six exports related awards and one import related customer service award was presented to main line shipping agents. One export and one import related customer service award was presented to container depot operators. Winners of the awards was selected based on an online survey conducted by an independent survey agency during the month of January 2020. Chairman of ICS Sri Lanka mentioned in his speech that the key objective of conducting the customer service survey and awards every year is to help enhancing the service levels and standards of the industry. Event was regarded as the most sought-after shipping event which was viewed online by many from the industry. ICS Sri Lanka plans to hold its next awards ceremony on 26th of March 2021, along with students awards in Colombo.
