The Institute's Open Day has started

NEE Open Day

An encouraging start of our Open Day events round the world... We just received the below from Nikki Sayer FICS, our North East of England Branch Chair...

We have had a very successful open evening tonight here at the North East of England Branch.

This was the first of many open evening's held for our new North East School of Shipping (NESS), based at Stockton Riverside College (SRC) and we had an excellent turn out.  We had students (new and existing) from businesses who usually support the Institute, who came along with their Managers to meet the new team and see the new facilities; we also had students from other businesses who have not been involved with the Institute before and we also had a lady who has spent 20 years working in shipping in Venezuela and who wants to get her qualifications to enable her to get a job in the UK.

The attached picture from left to right shows Jan Ingram from SRC, Matt Lane a new student from Casper Shipping, Rob Marshall the new NESS Tutor, Nikki Sayer Chair of NE Branch, Matthew Crust a current student from GAC and Michael Duffy from the SRC.

We had a total of 8 students attend who have all signed up to start the courses next week.

Well done Nort East!
