East India Branch
The East India Branch (formerly Madras Branch) of the Institute
of Chartered Shipbrokers was established in 1995, on the occasion
of the 75th anniversary of the Institute being granted its Royal
Charter.
Since its inception, the Branch has been conducting regular
classes for students and branch level prizes have been awarded
outstanding candidates in the bi-annual examinations.
The East India Branch is proud to have played host to the
Institute's Executive Council in 1997 (the first Overseas Branch to
host such a meeting), the Centenary Controlling Council meeting as
well as the Centenary Celebration and a Conference in
2011.
