The London School of Shipping offers an extensive range of face-to-face programmes in commercial shipping disciplines, ideal for new starters or those working in the business looking to further their knowledge in specific industry sectors. The programmes are led by experienced course leaders supported by visiting expert practitioners from the extensive London maritime community.

Introduction to International Trade and Maritime Law

Description:
A comprehensive three-day programme including discussion sessions, workshops, group activities, case studies and multi-media presentations. The course will cover the source and context of International Trade and Maritime law; carriage of goods by sea, charterparties; bills of lading; marine insurance; contracts of sale; admiralty jurisdiction; maritime claims; limitation of liability; salvage; general average; dispute resolution and mediation.

Susan Hawker Susan Hawker

Susan Hawker is an Associate Professor at the London Law Centre of the University of Notre Dame (South Bend, Indiana, USA), and visiting lecturer at Cass Business School (City University) and at HST Akademie Hamburg. She also lectures for the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers' courses, and for the UKSA's MCA Yacht Masters' qualification. In addition to her academic work, Susan speaks at and chairs commercial shipping seminars, and undertakes in-house legal training. Susan is an academic and legal consultant and examiner for the Grain & Feed Trade Association (GAFTA).
