Australia/New Zealand branch webinar ShipCyberSecurity-Management

  • Date Tuesday, August 31, 2021

Overview

The Australia and New Zealand Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS-ANZ) holds frequent Online webinars and Tutorials on topical issues of concern to the maritime industry.

On 31 August 2021 at 0700 UTC/GMT, the issue will be Maritime Cyber Risk Management. The flyer with details is below.

The Operational Technology (OT) of ships, shipping companies, ports, refineries and petrochemical plants, among other entities, have been "hacked" in the recent past. The cost of repair has been large. For example, Maersk suffered an impact of $300 to $400 million in 2017. CMA-CGM was attacked in October 2020 and suffered another, this time ransomware attack, as recently as April 2021. Other container ship majors, MSC and COSCO, have also been attacked in 2020 and 2021.

The ICS-ANZ offers some insights about the threat and how to manage it. You are welcome to join us.
