About the project

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and UNDP Ports project are jointly developing a certified course for port based stakeholders (terminal operators, port authorities, freight forwarders and shippers) on awareness and security measures to prevent illicit wildlife trafficking through sea ports.

About this meeting

The forum provides high level stakeholders with an opportunity to hear about the latest developments on this course objectives, and plans for roll out across the ports of Eastern Africa.

Presentations will be followed by workshop sessions to assist in the development of the detailed course syllabus and roll out of the teaching.  The course will cover;

  • Sea ports and port operation management basics
  • Illegal wildlife and other illicit trade and its effect on environment, economy, and sea port security
  • Measures to prevent illegal wildlife and other illicit trafficking through sea port supply chains
