ICS Singapore Branch IMO 2020 Series - 6 November 2019

  • Date Wednesday, November 6, 2019
  • Venue SSA Lounge

Overview

ICS Singapore Branch IMO 2020 Series

The Singapore Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers is pleased to announce a series of panel discussions covering the "Life of a Voyage with IMO 2020".

This is a series of three-panel discussions which intend to cover the "on the ground aspects" of upcoming IMO 2020 for the various stakeholders and these discussions will be a lot more practical rather than theoretical. The emphasis will be for the audience to get guidance as to "what can I do tomorrow to manage the IMO 2020 risks".

Series 1: Dealing with Pre-Fixture Stage

What does an owner/operator account for differently due to IMO 2020 and how does he look to cover those risks? At the same time, what are the potential challenges that a charterer sees view IMO 2020 and how does he secure himself?

The idea is to just give pointers to our members and audience as to what kind of practical issues are owners and charterers facing as they grapple with uncertainties of IMO 2020 - Which ship to choose? How to handle scrubbers? How to price scrubber fitted vessels? How to plan bunkering? How to map availability? and so on.

Panellists:

Mr Rob Aarvold - General Manager, Swire Bulk (A representative of shipowner/operator)

Mr Pradeep Nambudiry - Asst VP, Singapore Shipping International Pte Ltd (A representative of a charterer)

Mr Punit Oza - Chairman of ICS Singapore (Moderator)
