"LNG Bunkering: Delivering the Fuel of Choice for Vessels"

There are only 8 months left before the enforcement of the IMO 2020 global fuel Sulphur cap, the shipping community is now seeing a global phenomenon of LNG bunkering services and infrastructure taking shape, where LNG is increasingly becoming the Fuel of Choice for new build vessels.

The talk will address the following topics:

1)             Why is LNG the Fuel of Choice for Vessels?

2)             LNG Bunkering Infrastructure and Road Map in Singapore.

3)             Profiling current LNG Bunkering operations in Singapore.

4)             How is an LNG Bunkering contract structured?

Speaker: Mr Saunak Rai, FICS

Mr Saunak Rai is heading "FueLNG", a Joint venture of Shell and Keppel, an LNG bunkering company provide LNG as bunkers to customers through truck to ship and ship to ship operations. FueLNG has already completed more than 100 LNG bunkering operations in Singapore.

He graduated with President's Gold Medal in Nautical Science from Mumbai University and had an MBA from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. During his MBA Mr. Rai, worked on Integrated Strategy Project on LNG Bunkering. Mr. Rai is a licensed Master Mariner and has extensive experience working on LNG vessels, Tankers, Bulk Carriers and Container vessels. He is also a certified Chartered Shipbroker and one of the founder Executive Member of Danish Branch of ICS.
