Hong Kong Branch - Winter lecture on Ship Owning: Changes & Challenges

Change is constant and this reality is so very evident when one sees how Ship Owning Industry has evolved over the last 10 years (after the financial crisis). Where we are today and what challenges are in store for this industry. Mr. Edward Buttery will share his thoughts on these issues and the strategies that a shipping firm should employ to survive & succeed.

Edward Buttery FICS is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Taylor Maritime (HK) Ltd (est. 2013), a dry bulk owner. Chartering Executive at Pacific Basin (London) from 2006-2008, had previously worked on the brokering desk at Clarksons Dry Cargo (handysize and supramax). Vice president and Deputy Chief Operations Officer at Asia Maritime Pacific from 2008-2010. Relationship Manager at Nordea Bank, Singapore, from 2011-2013. Studied at Oxford University and has an MSc in finance, specialisation in shipping and trade, from CASS Business School. ICS President's Prize for Best Overall Results in the PQE 2010.

645pm : Welcome speech by Chairman + Presentation of Membership certificates

700pm : Lecture by Mr. Edward Buttery. Followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.

800pm onwards : Networking. Food (Barbecue dinner) and drinks on the house.
