CANADA BRANCH 6TH ANNUAL DRY BULK AND COMMODITIES CONFERENCE

The Sixth Annual Dry Bulk and Commodities Conference organized by ICS Canada in Vancouver, BC on November 14th, 2019 was attended by more than 180 delegates. 22 companies from Canada and USA sponsored this year's event; now being considered one of the industry major events in Canada.

Keynote speaker Morten Ingebrigsten (Pacific Basin Shipping) highlighted developing trends in the global dry bulk market with focus on Handy and Supramax tonnage. Paul Woods (Vessel Value) in his presentation focused on the Panamax tonnage.

Canadian and global grain trades were discussed by Casey McCawley (Parrish & Heimbrecker) and Mark Hemmes (Quorum Corporation).

Upcoming changes in the bunker fuel regulations and bunker market outlook were one of the hot topics, presented by Tony Brewster (Marine Petrobulk).

This year we had speakers discussed quite new markets for the most of delegates: Global Cement and Clinker Market Overview, presented by Paul Chabran (OnField) Methanol as an Alternative, presented by Paul Hexter (Waterfront Shipping Company). Each section of the conference was followed by extensive panel discussion and Q&A sessions.

The Conference provided excellent platform for networking, meetings colleagues from other companies and was followed by the traditional pub night at the Mahony and Sons where all delegates could relax after busy day.

ICS Canada made donation to the local Mission to Seafarers and Gibsons Royal Canadian Search and Rescue Station.
