Humber Branch Dinner 2018

Posted on Friday, March 2, 2018

Undeterred by the Beast From the East and Storm Emma over 200 guests attended the Humber Branch Centenary Dinner at the Willerby Manor Hotel near Hull on Friday March 02nd 2018.

Despite what was the worst weather the UK had experienced in over a decade guests from all over the UK, Bergen and Duisburg made it to the event.

Unfortunately the Director of the Institute, Julie Lithgow was unable to get to the evening so her speech was ably given by past Chairman Peter Yates who presented Norman Hawkes with his lifetime Membership Certificate.

Local Branch Chairman James Doyle gave his final speech before he hands over to Danny Carmichael and presented Ian Brodie (New Holland Dock) with the Mark Daniel Award and Dale Casson (Carlbom) with the Humber Branch Prize, guests were then entertained by the Incredible Singing Waiters before last minute stand in local comedian Kevin Precious took to the stage as original booking Rod Woodward was also a victim of the weather.

All in all a great night out and everyone got in to the spirit of the occasion.
