ICS Canada & VMAA Luncheon Series: 8th June 2017

The Canada Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, jointly with the Vancouver Maritime Arbitrators Association are holding a set of three 'Luncheon Series' presentations over the coming months.

The Second event of this series will be on Thursday, June 8th at the Waterfront Centre, kicking off at 11:45 and will highlight two local maritime lawyers/arbitrators.

Attendees will enjoy sandwiches and refreshment while getting an opportunity to ask questions of the Presenters and mingle with other local shipping industry members.

Third event -      Thursday / Oct 12th

Speakers and topics have yet to be announced but a short list of topics have been suggested:

  • BL's - Freight Prepaid vs Freightt Payable
  • What constitutes an arrived ship
  • Agents - who appoints / who pays / who's the employer
  • Berth charter vs Port charter
  • Commodity Sale Contract vis a vis Freight contract
  • Valid arbitration or mediation clause in CP vs BL
  • Clean vs Claused  - LOI's

Each event should wrap about 1:45 p.m.  Reservations highly recommended through the Chamber of Shipping.
